Programs

Foundations Program
Ages 8+
Our Foundations Program is designed to introduce the aspiring combat sport athlete to the basics of the sport. Jumping into a class environment where it seems everyone but you knows what is going on, and numbers and combinations are being called that you are unfamiliar with, can be overwhelming and disheartening. So, we offer three one-on-one private lessons and two weeks registration in classes to ease you into it and to make sure you are getting the individual technique instruction that you need!
For those with experience in combat sports already, the Foundations Program can be an opportunity to introduce you to our training system so you can get the most out of group classes.

Kickboxing 101: Introduction to Kickboxing
Ages 15+
An 8-week introductory program for ages 15 and up. This is a great way to dip your toes in to see if kickboxing is right for you! We will start with the fundamentals and work our way up so you don't feel left behind. Classes will include a mix of physical conditioning, technique instruction, and drills. Sparring will be optional to try near the end of the program once you have the fundamentals, if you're interested. Your registration includes a pair of boxing gloves, hand wraps, and shin guards.
Our goal with this 8-week program is to help you feel more confident jumping into general group classes, whether it be with us or at a different studio. It is good for anyone who is new to the sport, or anyone who would like a more in-depth look at the fundamentals of our curriculum.
Next start date: March 4, 2024

Family Class
All Ages
Martial arts is a great way to strengthen bonds as a family. This class is focused on facilitating a space for families to have fun together.
-
Sparring Class
Sparring is like a game of tag in which we bring all the techniques we’ve learned together in a strategic way. It is lots of fun but can be scary for a lot of people. We gradually introduce sparring according to an individualized plan depending on your experience and comfort level, which is why it is a separate class that you can sign up for rather than being integrated in our regular programs.
-
Advanced Kickboxing
Age 16+
Designed for those who have a good grasp of the fundamentals of kickboxing and want to take it a step further.
Competition Team.
Connection Martial Arts is a member club of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) Canada. Each sparring and competing athlete must pay an $80 annual member fee to be able to participate in WAKO’s events.
Competition can be a fun way to test your skills, build confidence and resilience, and connect with your team. If you’re interested in competing, talk to Nicole to start making a plan!
